Their mission
Their mission is "to empower the members to take concrete actions to improve the living conditions of their households and those of the community in which they live; especially the vulnerable groups."

Activities
The group already undertakes a number of income-generating activities, including a seedling nursery and vanilla growing, and natural vegetation in their environment includes eucalyptus which can produce a very fine honey. Thanks to a generous donation from Uganda Breweries, HSLA were able to supply the group with 60 hives and basic training to incorporate beekeeping into their existing activities. They have now appointed a full-time apiary manager, and are planting new trees, such as citrus and mango, which will provide forage for the apiary and will benefit from the pollination to produce maximum yields.
